Happy Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween. The day was unusually warm and sunny so we went to the park to play and then back home to carve our pumpkins.

That night we had a Halloween party with our closest friends. There is a group of five families who all moved our here for med school at the same time and we all live in the same apartment complex. They are like our "extended family" out here in wisconsin. We always get together for birthdays and holidays and whatever in between. Each of the five families all only had one child when we moved out here and now bewteen the five of us we have fourteen kids! We hardly fit in one appartment anymore. Lucky the weather was nice enough for us to eat outside. We ate yummy soup and of course had our annual doughnut on a string contest.

Then on to Trick-or-Treating! In the past we only have gone indoor trick-or-treating so this was our first time taking the kids house to house at night. As we headed out I had a wave of memories of my childhood trick-or-treating days. Marc Crosby made me laugh when he said "I've been waiting for this day for a long time!" Tyler and Sam Crosby were professionals speeding way ahead of the group going house to house as fast as they could. Andy said they reminded him of he and Marc as kids trying to get as much candy as possible. After the kids were in bed Andy and I watched Young Frankenstein with Gene Wilder. A classic hilarious parody of all Frankenstein movies. Andy was a champ going to all the festivities because his research thesis was due the next day so he sacrificed a lot of sleep to have a fun Halloween with his family. He's a great guy and he works really hard.

Your right, what a great Halloween. I am especially impressed with your pumpkin carving skills. You must have a much sharper knife than we do.

What a great Halloween! You guys are always doing fun stuff with all your fun friends. I loved watching Tyler eat the donut (with his left hand...wink,wink)!
Thanks for letting us peek in on the Hansen's Halloween. I personally hope your next Halloween will be in Utah:)
