Tyler's Pirate Birthday Party

Tyler had a party on his birthday and it was really fun. We don't know a lot of kids around here yet so we thought it would be a good way for him to get to know his primary class and a few other kids in our ward. Tyler loved the party and he loves being 5 years old! On his birthday when he woke up and I told him he is now 5 he was soooo suprised. Then he wanted to go try on his clothes to see if they still fit. He is such a cutie and we love him so much!

The invitation (I blurred out the address and phone # since this is a public blog)

Andy made two pirate ships out of our plethera of moving boxes. The kids made their own pirate flags to put on the back.

The cannonball fight- the cannonballs are just crumpled up newspaper wrapped in black tape

Looking through homemade telescopes for pirate treasure

"Walking the plank"

They had to search through this goo to find the captain's lost eyeball

Then they followed a series of clues to find the treasure (a pinata, candy braclets, ring pops and chocolate coins)

Tyler hitting his treasure pinata

The birthday cake (I got the idea from family fun magazine)

That looks like the best birthday ever! It would have been fun to bring Abby to it, why didn't we get invited? JK!

Wow! What a party. I am most impressed by the cake. Please stop posting such greatness; it makes me feel my own inadequacies. JK

Darling Amanda!!! You are such a cute Mom. And you too Andy! Great Pirate ships! Tyler has no idea how lucky he is. (And luckily my kids don't know either or they would be way jealous of this Awesome Pirate Party!)
